Welcome to Gayton Swimming Pool

The Pool is used for a wide variety of lessons, courses and leisure sessions by local clubs, schools, private hirers and the public – it is open every day.  There are children’s lessons held every day of the week and adult lessons are also available.

Learning to swim is an invaluable life skill for everyone – regardless of age, physical ability, culture or family circumstances.

A lot of people learn to swim because it is a great family and holiday activity and simply the fact that it could save your life – or your child’s life. Swimming is also an excellent form of low-impact exercise for all ages as it uses all the body muscles whilst supporting joints – improving fitness and burning calories all in one go.

Developing swimming skills also opens the doors to a wide range of recreational and competitive sport – not least swimming itself.

Local charity, Lonsdale Swimming and Sport Trust, has been dedicated to ‘Keep Derby Swimming’ since 2006 and operate the long-established and much loved Lonsdale pool in Mickleover and Gayton pool in Littleover.

Both community swimming pools offer a wide range of value for money sessions for hundreds of children, adults and families a week.

Staffed by qualified and highly experienced teachers and lifeguards, Gayton offers value for money swimming activities including children’s and adult swimming lessons, fun family sessions, adult only swimming sessions on a ‘pay as you go’ basis and facilities for local clubs and schools.
